Terms of Service

CampusMatch is a college research tool. It scores schools against the preferences you enter, using federal and public data plus AI-generated estimates for qualitative attributes (described on the About the data page).

It is informational only. Fit scores, admit-odds estimates, list-health feedback, and recommendations are not admissions predictions, financial advice, or professional counseling, and no outcome is guaranteed. Colleges change their data, prices, and admissions behavior; verify anything important with the school directly before acting on it. Your college decisions are yours.

CampusMatch is independent — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any college, university, or educational organization.

You can use much of CampusMatch without an account. Creating one (via email sign-in) lets you save results and attach purchases to something durable. You're responsible for the email address on your account; anyone with access to that inbox can access the account.

You must be at least 13 to use CampusMatch. If you're under 18, use it with a parent's or guardian's permission — and any purchase must be made by an adult.

CampusMatch sells one-time digital unlocks: report unlocks for the decision tool (single or in packs, stored as credits on your account) and a lifetime unlock for the discovery tool. Prices are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.

Unlocks are digital goods delivered immediately, so purchases are generally non-refundable once the content is unlocked. That said, if something went wrong — a double charge, a purchase that didn't deliver, an honest mistake — email support@trycampusmatch.com and we'll make it right.

“Lifetime” means the lifetime of the CampusMatch service, tied to your account. Credits and unlocks are not transferable between accounts and have no cash value.

Don't break the tool for others: no scraping the dataset at scale, reselling access, probing for vulnerabilities, circumventing the paywall, or misrepresenting CampusMatch output as an official ranking or admissions prediction. We may suspend accounts that do.

The CampusMatch name, design, scoring methodology, and content are ours. The underlying federal datasets are public; our scores and presentation are not.

CampusMatch is provided “as is.” We work hard on data quality (and document the limits openly), but we can't warrant that any data point, score, or estimate is complete, current, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CampusMatch's total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including admissions outcomes, enrollment decisions, or financial decisions made in reliance on the service. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.

We may update these terms as the product evolves; the effective date above will change when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. We may also modify or discontinue features — if we ever discontinue something you paid for, we'll do right by recent purchasers.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stands.
